WHAT THEY SAY
Bonus SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Love this watch, well built and decent reserve electricity, it hasn’t quit yet, mine is a little fast but is not a big issue.
That is a great admittance into automatic wrist watches, the Seiko movements has a long history of dependability.
Great watch that came on time. It exceeded my prospects. Fit and finish was beautiful. Well packed. The watch maintains excellent time right from the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, computerized movement identifies the Seiko Auto Sports and makes it its typical position. This analog watch is supported by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra presence. The watch also shows night out and resists drinking water for up to 100 feet. An ideal watch out for a round of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless link bracelet will hold it set up.
SEIKO 5 – the meaning of the “5” An excellent marketer had the theory in the 70iha sido: to be always a SEIKO 5, the watch really needs the following 5 (five) features (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please note that some SEIKO 5’s are actually SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then the Caliber 7S25 is used. The only real difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is comparable to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that all these movements overcome at a level of 21’600 bph (beats each hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a evaluation, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why must i discuss these three moves?
Because they’re found in probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic designer watches. A market show that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by a growing share of inexpensive China Made computerized movements An automated watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanised watch, typically with a balance steering wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the motion of the wearer’s arm, instead of having to be wound physically every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is driven by electricity, a mechanised watch is powered by a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK followers who want those watch instances were bigger, the delay is finally over. The SNZG15 actions a sturdy 42 mm and is 12 mm thick. That means its proportions are bigger than the old-style men’s designer watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge designer watches you commonly see today.
The top circumstance includes a brushed finish off, as well as polished finish on the edges. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is incredibly scratch resistant. It is also water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems a bit busy, although it does have a fairly nice arrangement which makes everything still readable. The outer ring shows the prominent numbered markings, while an internal ring provides military time. Your day and day info is highlighted at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are significant with a pointy end, as the second hand is just a nice sliver. The black dial offsets the hands and markers perfectly. The lume is great, as it glows brightly for up to 7 or 8 time.
The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch movements is accurate and reliable, with variances ranging from -20 moments to +40 secs a day. That doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese programmed movements, but also for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It offers a combat rate of 21600 BPH, which means you do not get the different ticking from a quartz watch that can be annoying during the night when everything’s noiseless. There is a 40-hour ability reserve so you can take it off during the night without having to worry that it’ll stop working.
This is perhaps the weakest link in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s the key reason why the SNZG15 is a few dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a lttle bit too hard at first, and you’ll need a while to break it in. It’ll do the job well enough eventually though.
For a few, the nylon looks quite cheap so it doesn’t match the tranquil appeal of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can certainly buy in stores and online, it’ll look far better.
PROS & CONS Bonus SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Basically, what we have here is an entry level armed service field watch, and it’s rugged operation and design are excellent.
The dial provides info immediately, and even at night there is no problem telling enough time. The hands are brightly luminous at night, and it doesn’t fade for most hours.
The precision is good enough for most people.
The “provenance” (record), is nice, as it dates back to a youthful era when designer watches such as they were worn on the field of struggle.
How big is the case is exquisite for those with bigger wrists, but even for standard wrists it generally does not really look too big.
For the nylon strap drawback, for some it’s actually nice enough to wear as is. But also for the most part, people don’t buy the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can certainly change the strap to NATO or leather and which should improve its look even more.
WHY I SHOP AT AMAZON
Bonus SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens -I put a lot of time and effort into choosing where you can shop. I have favorite stores for groceries. I’ve favorite stores for clothes. I’ve stores I detest. And, of course, almost always there is online shopping.
