Love this watch, well built and decent reserve vitality, it has not ceased yet, mine is just a little fast but not a big concern.

This is a great admittance into automatic watches, the Seiko movement has a long history of reliability.

Great watch that came on time. It exceeded my prospects. Fit and surface finish was beautiful. Well packaged. The watch retains excellent time right from the box.

A hi-tech, 23 jewels, automated movement identifies the Seiko Automatic Sports and earns it its typical position. This analog watch is backed by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra presence. The watch also shows particular date and resists normal water for 100 feet. The perfect watch for a circular of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless hyperlink bracelet will carry it in place.

Product description

SEIKO 5 – this is of the “5” A great marketer had the theory in the 70iha sido: to be always a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the next 5 (five) attributes (thus the name SEIKO 5):

  1. Automatic,
  2. Water resistant,
  3. Shock resistant,
  4. Date,
  5. Day.

Please note that some SEIKO 5’s are in fact SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then the Caliber 7S25 can be used. The only real difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.

Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Activities often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.

Please note that all these movements defeat at a level of 21’600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).

As a evaluation, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.

Why do I refer to these three moves?

Because they are within probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic designer watches. A market show that is huge, yet challenged nowadays (2006) by a growing talk about of inexpensive China Made automated movements An automated watch (also known as a self-winding watch) is a mechanised watch, typically with an equilibrium wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the motion of the wearer’s arm, instead of having to be wound physically every day.

Whereas a quartz watch is powered by electricity, a mechanised watch is power by the mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.

For SNK enthusiasts who want those watch cases were bigger, the hang on is finally over. The SNZG15 steps a powerful 42 mm which is 12 mm dense. That means its proportions are bigger than the old-style men’s wristwatches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge wristwatches you commonly see today.

The top case comes with a brushed finish off, as well as polished end on the factors. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is extremely scratch resistant. It’s also water-resistant up to 100 meters.

The dial design seems a lttle bit busy, although it does have a fairly nice arrangement that makes everything still readable. The outside band shows the prominent numbered markings, while an internal ring provides armed service time. The day and night out info is featured at the 3 o’clock position.

The hour and minute hands are substantive with a pointy end, as the second hand is just a good sliver. The dark dial offsets the hands and markers perfectly. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for 7 or 8 hours.

The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch movements is exact and reliable, with variances ranging from -20 mere seconds to +40 moments a day. It doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese programmed movements, but also for an basic level watch it’s more than sufficient.

It offers a beat rate of 21600 BPH, and that means you don’t get the distinct ticking from a quartz watch that can be annoying at night when everything’s noiseless. There is a 40-hour electric power reserve so you can take it off at night and never have to worry that it will stop working.

This is perhaps the weakest hyperlink in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s the key reason why the SNZG15 is a few dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel somewhat too hard at first, and you’ll need time to break it in. It’ll do the job well enough eventually though.

For some, the nylon looks quite cheap so it doesn’t match the tranquil selling point of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can simply buy in stores and online, it’ll look much better.

PROS & CONS seiko 5 sports mount fuji

Basically, what we have here is an basic level military field watch, and it’s rugged features and design are excellent.

  • The dial provides info immediately, and even during the night there’s no problem telling enough time. The hands are brightly luminous at night, and it generally does not fade for many hours.

  • The exactness is good enough for many people.

  • The “provenance” (record), is nice, as it dates back to an earlier era when wristwatches such as we were holding worn on the field of fight.

  • How big is the situation is perfect for people that have bigger wrists, but even for regular wrists it generally does not really look too large.

For the nylon strap downside, for some that it is nice enough to wear as is. But for the most part, people don’t choose the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can simply change the strap to NATO or leather and which should improve its look even more.
